Le Sans-Lieu

In Le Sans-Lieu, blue becomes distance without measure—a space that resists orientation and refuses to settle into place.

Layers of ultramarine, indigo, and luminous white gather into shifting passages that appear and recede with equal ease. Gesture moves without destination, allowing form to emerge only momentarily before dissolving again into the depth from which it arose.

The painting occupies a threshold between presence and disappearance. Neither landscape nor abstraction fully contains it; the image remains suspended, opening itself through intervals of light, silence, and movement.

Its title speaks not of absence, but of a condition beyond location. The work offers no fixed point of arrival, only a continual unfolding in which perception is invited to wander rather than conclude.

What remains is a sense of boundlessness—a painting that expands through attention, where every return reveals another horizon.
