RYOS
RYOS works in abstraction as a site of inquiry into consciousness, authorship, and emergence. His paintings are grounded in gestural abstraction, where material process operates not as expression alone, but as a system through which meaning is tested, destabilized, and re-formed.
Built through layering, disruption, and erasure, the work reflects the instability of identity and the persistent tension between intention and autonomy. Control and chance coexist, allowing the surface to register both decision and resistance as equally generative forces.
Recent bodies of work engage with the shifting nature of agency within environments shaped by responsive systems. Rather than depicting technology directly, the paintings examine how authorship and meaning evolve once systems—psychological, cultural, or artificial—begin to act back upon the individual.
Ambiguity is sustained rather than resolved, positioning painting as a space in which uncertainty remains active, generative, and unresolved.
